DESCRIPTION:Come on out for some fun park play and community service as part of our ongoing effort to help keep our community’s parks safe\, clean\, and green! The Glebe Community Association’s annual park clean-ups\, part of the City of Ottawa’s Spring Cleaning the Capital programme\, are underway\, most taking place this year on Saturday\, May 13 starting at 10:00 a.m. (pouring rain date: Sunday\, May 14). Link here for more details.\n\n\nHappy spring everyone! The Glebe Community Association’s annual park clean-ups\, part of the City of Ottawa’s Spring Cleaning the Capital programme\, are underway\, most taking place this year on Saturday\, May 13 starting at 10:00 a.m. (pouring rain date: Sunday\, May 14). \nThese events have always been great opportunities for neighbours to gather for some fun park play and community service as part of our ongoing effort to help keep our community’s parks safe\, clean\, and green. \nOn the cleaning front\, the main goal is to pick up litter; for parks with play areas\, this includes giving the sand a rake over to remove any other dangerous items (to be removed by adults). \nIf you can\, bring along a rake\, work gloves\, and a container to help consolidate (and safely store) any garbage we find into one garbage bag at each park (to minimize our use of larger single-use plastic bags). \nThe Glebe is fortunate to be home to twelve beautiful City parks along with other green spaces. They are a source of daily joy\, peace\, health\, and wonder for residents young and old.  Come together with your friends\, family\, and neighbours to the park clean-up near you\, make some new acquaintances  – and create some more wonderful neighbourhood moments and memories! \nBelow is a listing of GCA Parks Committee contacts who plan to be on hand at the parks that morning. DESCRIPTION:As part of the Lansdowne 2.0 project\, the City of Ottawa is holding a consultation on the publicly-managed areas of Lansdowne including the urban park\, Aberdeen Square\, the Aberdeen Pavilion and the Horticulture Building. The City wants to hear from the public  on the prioritization of the list of ideas that have been brought forward and gleaned from the public through previous engagements. The intent to improve the site by making the urban park more welcoming and support increased use of the park for an enhanced public experience. \nPlease join us on May 17th at 6pm for a virtual engagement session on the Lansdowne 2.0 Public Realm/Urban Park.
