As we close out 2025 let us celebrate some of the amazing highlights that we achieved this year!

  • April – we joined EnviroCrew from Old Ottawa South for a ‘Big Waste Collection’ which provided residents with a one stop drop for a range of materials that were not accepted in the City of Ottawa’s recycling but could be reused or repurposed.
  • May – we hosted the ‘Tour of Heat Pumps in the Glebe’ so that residents could speak with homeowners who had installed heat pumps and get their questions answered by representatives from HydroOttawa, Electrify613 and EnviroCentre.
  • June – we collaborated with Carleton University students to create signs recognizing the volunteer work of the Garden Angels which included a map for residents and visitors to tour the public gardens in the neighbourhood.
  • Summer – members held invasive species removal activities on Monday nights from June through August ending with a refreshing drink and free nachos from Senate Tavern .
  • September – we participated in a collaborative meeting hosted by Bel-Air Community Association to learn about the new city’s Community-led Greening Initiatives and Gardening Program which launches in January 2026.
  • October – we co-hosted a fall Big Waste Collection with EnviroCrew at Windsor Park.
  • November – we collaborated with CAFES on ‘Climate & Your Cash – Glebe’ where residents could learn how to divest retirement funds & banking from fossil fuel companies without compromising their returns.
  • December – we closed out the year by repeating ‘Climate & Your Cash’ in Kanata, bringing together representatives from the investment and insurance sectors as well as local investment products, Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-operative and Housing Bonds Forever.

I wish to thank all of you for your interest and the actions that you have personally taken over this year on behalf of planet Earth.
