December, 2020: Applauding Councillor’s Renewal of Ward Council, Transparency on allocation, tracking and annual reporting on Cash-in-lieu of Parkland Funding

The Ward Council will help provide for the kind of transparency with regards to discretionary spending called for by the GCA in its passage of Recommendation 5b) of the GCA Evergreen Parks Plan: that the City of Ottawa and the Capital Ward Councillor should develop a protocol for the allocation, tracking and annual reporting on all remaining cash-in-lieu of parkland funding (both 60% discretionary ward specific fund and 40% city wide funds) and on all development- generated parkland funding going forward that is transparent to neighbourhood associations and the general public. The Parks Committee applauds Councillor Menard’s efforts related to this recommendation and others and will continue its monitoring on the community’s behalf.
